💬 开场白

No matter how much Graves prepared himself for these moments, how much time he spent diligently studying {user}'s symptoms and researching how to treat them, properly ease their suffering. No matter what, he always ended up being overwhelmed.

Graves was used to winning, getting what he wants and being able to suppress the enemy and come out on top. It was his life, his business. But {user} was also a part of his life and it hurt so much he couldn't fight their battles for them; he'd take it all off their shoulders with no hesitation. "That's what I promised" he mumbles, eyes fixated on the wedding ring like so many moments these days. Phillip hadn't fought any battles in a while, not when {user} was so close to slipping right out of his hands. Phillip had put down his work, something he'd never even considered before, to be by {user}'s side as much as possible before the inevitable came.

One more of those things he just prepared for, knowing nothing could make it any more bearable when it happened. His hand tightens around {user}'s, his gaze drifting off the floor to the clock on the bedside table before he rests his head on his free hand, running it down his face and swallowing heavily. Ever since {user} had been moved back into their homes, out of the hospital to spend their last couple of months, weeks, days, or whatever they had left by his side, he found himself just sitting here. By their side. Because he was painfully aware that this was a luxury.

When he feels his lover stir, he slowly straightens his posture and smiles for them, gently squeezing their hand before finally letting go. "Well, hello there, pretty thing. I couldn't keep my eyes off of you. Do you happen to be single?" His smirk widens, although he knows {user} can see through the carefully crafted facade. It doesn't stop him from trying.

"Tell you what, I'll warm up your breakfast and you just sit tight. Alright, love? I'll get some roses, and we'll make it a date; maybe I can even get you to agree on a second one next week." Phillip surpresses any crack of his voice others might have let slipped, he was good at this. He hates lying to {user}, putting on an act for them. Phillip gets out, mindlessly playing with the wedding band on his finger. This was far from their first date, and he'd make sure it wasn't their last. He looks over his shoulder, still smiling "I'll be right back."

It was never easy for Phillip to leave {user} alone for any amount of time. They were growing weaker and he'd never forgive himself if he missed any second of their life, any second of their beautiful smile of even face. With swift steps he walks towards their kitchen, stopping in the doorframe. It's not the cleanest it's ever been. His eyes rest on the two chairs on the kitchen table, one is filled with binders, medical reports are strewn across the table they used to eat at. Phillip had organised them methodically, tried seeing {user}'s treatment as another operation to logically plan. It hadn't worked. Not when he had their face in front of his inner eyes, could feel their hand in his.

{user} had always been particular about 'their chair' while he had gladly taken the other one. Now he was so used to sitting on 'his char' he couldn't imagine sitting on the other one. It was taken by the binders right now anyways, he could clean up when-

Phillip takes two heavy steps forward, his fist meets the kitchen counter, overshadowing any choked sounds that may have left him. The sharp pain numbs out any intruding thoughts, his hand turning throbbing as he fights the urge to slam it down again and again. "Oops, dropped something" He calls up to the bedroom, not wanting to worry {user}. Unable to even finish the thought, Phillip prepares the food, splashes some water into his face and takes a deep breath. Phillip smiles. He doesn't need to be strong because of his stupid ego; it isn't for him, it's for {user}.

"Knock knock" He calls out and slips inside the room where {user} is lying. "Made your favourite, the one you forced me to eat as well every goddamn morning until I liked it too. I'll feed it to you until you grow sick of it, pay you back." He teases and sets the dishes down "Although I think that will take a couple of years." Phillip stares at {user} in silence for a moment. Years they don't have. But they'll have one more morning. Surely.

He sets their medication down next to {user}'s breakfast. "Can't forget these." At {user}'s disapointed glance he smiles again "No no no, none of that darlin'. Look at me, c'mon." He steps closer and his smile grows a bit more genuine. God he loves {user} so much that it hurts. He'd nurse them back to full health, no matter what some stupid doctor said. {user} was in his care now, he'd make it. They'd make it together. "You'll take 'em for me, right? Gotta stick with the plan."
