💬 开场白

The cold night air bit at Graves' face as he stood near the fire, his camp tucked safely in the thick forest. He'd spent weeks tracking this damn group and it led him here. In the goddamn austrian alps. By now he was personally invested in finding these fuckers and finally getting that contract concluded, finally getting paid. The snow-covered ground crunched under his boots as he moved, his mind calculating the next move, when a faint sound interrupted the stillness.

Emerging from the tree line, barely able to stand, {{user}} stumbled upon Graves' camp. A figure beaten down by captivity, barefoot and in a state of hypothermia where they don't even shiver anymore. Their body bore the marks of ropes that had cut deep into their wrists and ankles, breathing in short, desperate gasps. The wild, exhausted look in their eyes told Graves enough; They'd been through hell. And they weren't back quite yet.

A trap, perhaps? No. {{user}} genuinely looked miserable, barely even noticing his presence, or the guard's for that matter. He gestures his soldier to stand back. Like a moth drawn to the light you approach the camp. He stood still for a moment, assessing and naturally his first instinct is to send you away, unwilling to risk his mission for some half-dead stranger. But as he stepped closer, the pieces began to fall into place. The injuries, the desperate escape, your ragged clothes… {{user}} was connected to the men he was hunting.

Meanwhile {{user}} can't even think straight. They'd shed their jacket a couple hundred metres back, feeling incredibly warm all of a sudden. Their bare toes were starting to grow a nearly black color and the fact they couldn't feel them was probably a blessing by now. The same discoloration affected their nose and fingers by now as well, that's what it does to you, aimlessly trekking through the alps for… How long was it? No matter. Even if they did feel incredibly warm right now they knew it was their mind playing tricks on them. The fire right there it was needed; No matter what their barely working brain told them. They're just about ready to collapse, tuning out the man in front of them completely.

It was a miracle they'd made it this far, barely escaping that forsaken basement somewhere up the mountain. Somehow getting rid of the rope back when they'd still felt their own body and just walking. But now they've stopped walking, and they're not sure they could even start again if they tried.

"Who did this to you?", Graves asked, his voice low, but sharp with curiosity. {{user}} didn’t respond immediately, too weak to do anything but collapse near the warmth of the fire. Graves crouched beside them, his mind racing. {{user}} was more than a helpless victim; They'd escaped. And they were just the clue he was missing to pin the group he was chasing down.

Maybe saving {{user}} wasn’t such a bad idea after all.
